Fruitera Trail Mix Recipe
Spring has officially arrived, and though out here on the West Coast we’ve been enjoying the mild weather by hiking and biking all winter long, (sorry to all of you on the East) the rising temperatures entices us to extend our excursions to all day adventures!
Packing snacks to keep up your energy so you can reach the end of that long trail or just wanting something to munch on while enjoying the view from the summit, is now a must. Sure it’s easy to grab an energy or granola bar but they are usually full of sugar and little else. And so this last weekend when planning for our hike, I was inspired to create my own trail mix. It took a few minutes more than grabbing a bar out of the cupboard but, boy, was it worth it! The next time you’re heading out to enjoy the great outdoors give this recipe a try.
Fruitera Trail Mix
½ cup cashews
½ cup almonds
½ cup walnuts
⅓ cup pumpkin seeds
⅓ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup dried cranberries or raisins
2 packages of Fruitera Baobab Fruit Cubes
Throw all the ingredients in a Ziploc bag and shake.
You can use raw or toasted nuts or seeds but try to stay away from the ones that are coated in either salt or sugar. The Fruitera Baobab Cubes are the killer ingredient in this trail mix, the burst of flavour that they deliver makes your mouth sing!
Make this recipe the next time you’re heading out and I would love to hear how you liked it or how you made it better.
